Wow! The Eurotape-Studio of the Nordkurier Mediengruppe embraces artificial intelligence. The team is currently examining practical application possibilities of self-learning and "thinking" software. Since the triumph of blockbusters like 'The Matrix' or 'Lord of the Rings' at the latest, so-called 'colour grading', a kind of holistic colour processing of the image material with the aim of creating a certain look for a film, has become indispensable in TV and film production.
Until now, this was a highly complex process in which the material from different cameras and sources had to be manually standardised. The Eurotape studio is currently testing new software solutions in which artificial intelligence performs these time-consuming and labour-intensive alignments dynamically and in real time.
"And this is just the beginning," says Eurotape managing director Mathias Jentzen. "In the coming years, we plan to use the enormous possibilities offered by the ever-evolving AI in other areas such as subtitling and digital distribution."
