Thousands of refugees from Ukraine have arrived in the north-east of the republic in recent weeks. They could hardly take anything with them on their flight. The most necessary things have already been provided to them in many cases, but in order to live a halfway normal everyday life, they need much more. Therefore, the readers' aid organisation of the Nordkurier (Nordkurier Leserhilfswerk), together with the Nordkurier Füreinander gGmbH, is starting a special fundraising campaign for the benefit of ukrainian refugees. Lutz Schumacher, managing director of the Nordkurier media group and chairman of the board of the readers' aid organisation, explains what this is all about in an interview.
