Last night there was a little celebration at the Nordkurier-Headquarters. The winners of the in-house journalism award were chosen as part of a virtual "party" - for the seventh time, by the way. The award was given for special journalistic efforts in the year 2020, which, as for many others, was also a special year for the editors. Instead of brainstorming in the editorial offices, there was home office work, on-site research with protective measures and hundreds of video-calls every week to ensure that Nordkurier-readers were always up to date. This time, prizes were awarded for excellent sports reports, local coverage of Corona's everyday heroes, special digital formats such as streamed performances by musicians in the Demmin local newsroom, and the reporting and extensive campaigns surrounding the Waren mayoral election.
